The KET Coalition presentation even made it to Twitter!

On December 02, the KET Coalition presented at the 2019 National Healthcare Preparedness Conference in Houston, TX. The presentation, entitled “Cause and Effect: The Evolution of the Coalition From Real World Events” was selected for a 90 minute presentation. Presenting on behalf of the Coalition: Wanda Roberts, John Brinkley, and Oseana Britton.

The presentation took a look at the progression of the Coalition, from it’s early conception of individual hospitals to the regional healthcare response organization it operates as today. This evolution can be attributed to events, exercises, and guidance from ASPR. Focusing on the role of the Coalition, the presentation shared best practices and lessons learned from the many events we’ve had in our region, from hospital shootings, water outages, wild fires, and transport accidents. This presentation also highlighted projects that the coalition has been a part of including pediatrics, Stop the Bleed, and our work with our CMS partner agencies.

To show our Southern hospitality, each attendee left with a TN made Moon Pie with information about the KET Coalition attached.
