Although the Knox/East Tennessee Healthcare Coalition is in the preparedness business all year, we thought that celebrating National Preparedness Month would be a great opportunity for us to remind everyone to take some time this month and make sure all of your preparedness plans are in place. The theme this year is “Disasters Don’t Plan Ahead. You can.” This is very important for us as individuals, for our families, our neighborhoods, our business, our churches, and other groups.
Below are some great resources to help with your planning and some opportunities to give back.
- Ready.gov has a wealth of information.
- Knox County Health Department has some great resources including a calendar to help your family get a kit together and make a plan.
- Additional preparedness related information is available from our partners at the American Red Cross.
- Want to give back or volunteer? Check out Tennessee Department of Health’s volunteer options.
