As summer temperatures continue to rise, so does the strain on cooling systems — especially in healthcare facilities where maintaining a safe and comfortable environment is critical to patient care and staff well-being.

On a recent high-temperature day, one of our coalition partners experienced an unexpected air conditioning failure. In response, the Knox/East Tennessee Healthcare Coalition (KETHC) quickly deployed two MovinCool K60 portable air conditioning units to support the facility.

Each MovinCool unit is capable of cooling up to 2,500 square feet, offering a combined 5,000 square feet of emergency cooling capacity. These units are part of the region’s cache of deployable assets, maintained specifically to support coalition members during infrastructure disruptions or emergencies.

This response is an example of KETHC’s commitment to cooperative partnerships in preparedness and response. By working together and sharing resources, we help ensure that healthcare providers across the region can continue operations safely — even in the face of environmental challenges like extreme heat.

We thank all of our partners for their continued collaboration and dedication to community health and safety.
