KET Coalition, Homeland Security District 2 and UT Medical Center are providing “Stop the Bleed Train the Trainer” classes on June 26 and 27, 2018 at Jubilee Banquet Facility (6700 Jubilee Center Way, Knoxville). This course provides attendees the ability to teach Stop the Bleed which covers the basic actions needed to stop life threatening bleeding in emergency situations. Topics to be covered include:
– The primary principles of trauma care response
– How to ensure your own safety
– The ABCs of Bleeding – Alert, Bleeding, Compress
This class will include, lectures, PowerPoint presentations and hands-on skills training in direct wound pressure, wound packing and tourniquet application.
The class is only 1 ½ hours long, so you have the option of attending 1 of 4 classes on either June 26 or June 27.
