The Amateur Radio Technician-Level Licensure Class is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of amateur radio operation and prepare them to pass the FCC Technician Class license exam. This entry-level license is the starting point for individuals who want to engage in amateur (ham) radio communication.
The primary purpose of the class is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain their Technician license, enabling them to operate amateur radios legally and effectively. This contributes to enhanced personal communication capabilities, supports emergency preparedness, and fosters community engagement in radio communication.
The class serves as an essential step for individuals in healthcare, public safety, and other critical sectors to enhance regional communication capabilities, particularly in emergencies.
A huge thank you to our amazing amateur radio instructors for leading the Technician-level licensure class, and to all the coalition members who dedicated their time to the day-and-a-half course. ๐ก
Weโre thrilled to announce that we now have 14 newly licensed amateur radio operators in our region! ๐ These operators represent a wide range of critical sectors, including hospitals (acute care and rehab), law enforcement, fire services, dialysis centers, medical clinics, long-term care, and more.
This is a fantastic step forward in strengthening our regionโs emergency communication capabilities. Congratulations to all! ๐๐
