Hospital Net HAM Radio Exercise/Test

May 26, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Dear Hospital Team Leaders:

Be advised that the regular monthly hospital net will be held this coming Friday, May 26, 2017 to start at 7pm on the 146.94 repeater.  Net control for this session will be UT Hospital.

Net control will announce each frequency change using our current “channel list”.  If you lose NCS for any reason go to the next channel on our list or return to 146.94.  NCS please monitor 146.94 at all times during the net.

We have added 144.210 USB to our channel list because SSB usually provides a greater simplex range than FM.

Frequency and modes used are up to the net control and will be announced by the NCS.

Since we are striving to move toward a backup digital mode, I encourage those hospitals that are up on digital mode to send and copy some practice traffic at the end of the voice mode net. It is advised that you use FM simplex or USB and avoid repeater use for digital use.   However, short digital transmissions will work on repeaters if you decide to use it.  The type of digital mode is your choice.   I encourage each team to continue to work toward digital capability during 2017.

The current channel plan is:

Memory 1,  146.94 repeater FM

Memory 5,  147.075 repeater FM

Memory 2,  147.300 repeater FM

Memory 26, 147.42 simplex FM

Memory 17, 444.300 repeater FM

Memory 24, 28.420  10M USB

Memory tba, 144.210 USB 2 meter SSB

Back to Memory 1, 146.94 to close voice mode

Switch to digital mode,  NCS sets type and frequency to use.

I encourage the NCS to send a practice traffic message during the net using ICS format.

Thank you,

Dave Garner   K4YRK
